49th Anniversary & Annual Prize Giving Ceremony at Girls’ Department

Tuesday 4th June 2013 is a very important day for all Keatsians as we have celebrated two significant events on that day namely, the school’s 49th anniversary along with our annual prize giving ceremony.

The prize giving ceremony was held in the gymnasium which was decorated with gift boxes, flowers and papers gorgeously, in the presence of a large number of people and some eminent personalities as well. Our Masters of Ceremony ; Miss Lina Bungaroo along with Mrs Sandhia Lokhee hosted the event.

Our guests, Sir Joseph Tsang Mang Kin, Mr Roland Kwai Kwe,the President of PTA and the President of KCOSA were present and they had the opportunity to deliver a speech to the students. The emphasis of all their speeches was on education, each one has his own way to encourage students to perform better, which is undoubtedly the very aim of organizing a prize giving ceremony yearly. Prizes were offered to students of both Prevocational stream as well as the mainstream for their brilliant academic purposes. Not to forget that even those students who participated in various competitions like ‘English Elocution’, ‘Spelling Bee Competition’, ‘Concours d’orthographe’, ‘Hanuman Chalisa Chanting competition’ were rewarded by certificates, prizes and some were even offered a cash prize. Besides, the audience was also entertained by some students who prepared a small sketch entitled: ‘The Frog Who Would Be as Big as an Ox.’

On that day, the generosity of some teaching staff could not be overlooked, Mr Teeluck as well as Mrs Mosaheb had personally rewarded their students to express their happiness and pride.

When the prize giving ceremony was over, all the members of teaching and non-teaching staff had gathered in the staff room where we were all treated to refreshments and some delicacies. Mrs Wong did the honour of cutting the big and yummy cake.

Certainly this event would not be a success without the help of Mrs Rampersand, Miss Bhuruth, Mrs Bankur, Mrs Edoo, Mrs Pamela, Mrs Lokhee and those who helped in some way or the other.
