The students have found this first week in secondary schooling fun and very pleasant. The different activities organised by the different departments had been well planned with the support of all concerned staff members. The various activities are shown below:
The happiness on the students' faces shows to what extent the induction program has pleased them. They were even rewarded by a small gift and some snacks at the end.

Induction Program - Form 1 Students
A special time table has been designed by the Deputy Rector, Mr.Mungly and his section leader together with the staff of the Boy's Department in order to make the Form 1 Students feel at home at Keats College. Bridging the gap from Primary school to Secondary School is a very challenging event in the lives of these Form 1 students, so why not make it memorable and attractive for them? A brochure has been designed by our deputy rector which was given to the parents for them to understand the special timetable for the first week for the form 1 boys.

Rector's Message for year 2013
Dear Colleagues and friends,
Welcome back to your 2nd home, your Keats family, after a well deserved resting holiday.
This morning it gives me great pleasure to welcome each one of you as a friend and as an educational partner.
I just hope that year 2012 has been a good year to you, just like mine.
For me New Year 2013 holds lots of challenges and promises.
This year I am dedicating this year to be the year of commitment. Most of you, I am sure must have read my numerous emails. In one of them which I have sent to you all, I mentioned about commitment accompanied with my new year’s good wishes to you and to your family. Needless to say, you all being present today, means you have already tuned yourself to be in the mood of committing yourself to your responsibility as an educator and ready to shoulder your duties as a true citizen.
As a retrospection of 2012, we started with the PBL program an innovative scheme with the students of form 1 and 2 .As you are aware it was in January 2012; we started with the aim to develop and to enable our students to become eventually autonomous learners. But we all know quite well we had to start somewhere, it has been a long tedious journey. At the very beginning with teachers’ support, it mainly involves guiding the learners’ steps and monitoring the progress of each student all along, till the student becomes more capable to be in charge of himself or herself. Making such a decision for every school day is a continued battle to which we shall all have to continue doing if we want to see concrete results in a few years. A special word of thanks to all the teachers who have embarked in that venture. We shall have to keep it up.
This year too, we shall continue along this same line of action that is make our students become independent learners, however there will be some small adjustments. In addition to this agreed concept, we have to make use of technology know how, which we must take on board as a helpful friend. It is imperative that we all start to make information technology an integrated part not only of our teaching, but of our daily life style. Without which, our progress will not only be insignificant but void, it will be just a matter of time before we sink into oblivion. It is something nobody wants.
Success smiles only to those who dare to take bold initiatives and be different. I have always believed that at Keats College not only we are the leaders in innovating our approach to teaching and learning but we are also leaders in embracing new creative ideas for the social and economic advancement of our students.
What are my expectations for 2013?
It is clear that I am looking for the implementation and application of the use of ICT @ school and in your professional life.
I want my students to be more exposed to internet and its derivatives. For this, you should be showing how you are using and benefiting from its uses. It is clear someone who loves fashion or football cannot help himself or herself from talking about it all day long with passion. Even if in the worse cases, you become a chatter box, so far so good to me as long as my students are obtaining the right positive influence to work smarter.
Form 1 and 2 should be under our constant observation. I expect to have regular feedback on each class of students from all of you concerning their progress through emails, sms. The choice of communication is yours as long as it serves its purpose.
Set clear attainable objectives within specific time frame and share them with your students so that everybody knows exactly what is expected from each one of you. Educators and students should be commitment once a decision to work is reached to attain set goals, however small it can be. Satisfaction, pride and recognition breed confidence to move to bigger challenges.
Desire, action and feedback as a loop is the way to victory. Plan to succeed and success becomes predictable, it is not a miracle as once thought beforehand. I have no doubt what I eat, talk, walk is the result of my thoughts and will power. So I am inviting all of you to start this brand new Year with determined resolutions to achieve set targets as a sign of one’s commitment to deliver what one has promised oneself to do so diligently.
I would like to end with a famous quote from Albert Einstein the physicist and Nobel Prize winner.
Insanity is doing repeatedly the very same thing or action and expecting different results.
With this, I end by wishing all of you a great promising year full of excitable moments to be enjoyed and shared within the Keatsian family.
Yes we can….
Long live keatsians
Long Live Keats College
Long live our dreams
Mr. Tony Wong
